Do Unto Otters: A Book About Manners

A book full of subtle puns, a group of otters move next door to rabbit, whose last neighbor was rather, well, unneighborly.  His friend Owl gives Rabbit advice on how to treat his new neighbors.  Do unto otters as you would have otters do unto you.  Rabbit explores how he would want otters to be polite, friendly, use good manners, be honest, play fair, and more.

There are a couple of things I had *minor* issues with, such as in the sharing section, the otters share the book "Harry Otter."  And in the being forgiving section, rabbit apologizes for calling his neighbor a "snotter."  But, overall, a fun book, although with a bit over-the-top illustrations, it really helps bring home the message.

I still find myself telling the two littlest ones to "do unto otters" when they start trying to take things away from each other or forget to apologize.   They know exactly what I   mean.  It is a more fun look at manners for little ones.
